Joseph Newman

Joseph Newman is a lead software engineer at the Virginia Tech Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT). His recent work involves data analytics and geospatial application development for data driven decision making. He is interested in open source solutions to complex geospatial challenges across multiple domains, such as highway safety, precision agriculture, risk assessment, and broadband mapping. Joseph has served as the project manager for CGIT’s contract with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Highway Safety Office since 2011.
