Virginia State Police Crash Analysis Dashboard

The Virginia State Police Crash Analysis Dashboard was developed by the Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT) in partnership with the Virginia State Police (VSP). This secure, interactive platform provides law enforcement and policymakers with powerful tools to explore and analyze crash data across the Commonwealth. By transforming raw records into visual insights, the dashboard enables agencies to identify high-risk areas, monitor safety trends, and evaluate the impact of policy and infrastructure decisions. 

Purpose and Capabilities

The Crash Analysis Dashboard serves as a central access point for analyzing statewide crash information drawn from multiple trusted data sources, including the Traffic Records Electronic Data System (TREDS) and the DMV Vehicle Crash Geolocation Project. Users can visualize crash patterns over time and geography, examine contributing factors, and generate tailored reports that support evidence-based strategies for improving roadway safety.
